Originally created as an antithesis to the shoot-em up style games dominating the arcades at the time, Pac-man was a HUGE hit with the female crowd... probably because most of the dudes were busy shooting ducks and invading space. But they came around. This simple, yet somehow difficult game blew up in popularity and basically becoming a cross-generational icon.
