My piece Shimmer is inspired by childhood and adulthood. Remembering the innocences and the good times as a kid is a safe place for me as an young adult making my way into the world. We’re so bombarded with bad things that are happening in the world, and with social media making us compare our lives and appearances. But when we’re kids it’s just us, our family and friends. Toys can help us create a world where we feel safe.
